About LexA

The people behind LexA

LexA is built in Germany — by an IT company with 30+ years of experience in regulated industries and practicing attorneys on the team. So you get an AI platform that does not have to learn German attorney-client privilege after the fact.

Mission & Vision

Why we build LexA

LexA modernizes legal-services delivery in Germany — from the first mandate inquiry to invoicing — on an AI-native, EU-sovereign platform with German professional law in its design core.

We are not just digitizing what established vendors started in the 1990s. We rethink the full mandate journey: from the first inquiry through fact-finding, briefs, and court communication, all the way to billing. AI-native, not AI bolt-on. Cloud-sovereign, not terminal servers. Workflow-centric, not document-centric. § 203 StGB and BRAO in the design core, not in a leaflet.

Our picture of the law firm of tomorrow is concrete: fully digital, largely automated, AI-supported — so attorneys spend less time on software and more time on mandates, cases, and clients. That is what we build for German law firms today. Looking ahead, we see the platform extending into adjacent legal-services areas as well — guided by product maturity, not by marketing slides.

Why LexA

Two worlds that needed to meet

Modern law-practice software today sits between two extremes. On one side, the established on-premise systems from the 1990s — technically reliable, but largely passed by cloud, AI, and mobile work. On the other side, generic AI tools that do not carry German professional law — § 203 StGB (criminal-law confidentiality), § 43a/e BRAO (Federal Lawyer Act), § 2 BORA (professional code) — in their design core, but only as an end-of-document disclaimer.

LexA is the answer to exactly that tension: AI-native software for German law firms, built by people who understand cloud architecture in regulated industries and the day-to-day reality of a Rechtsanwaltskanzlei.

The team

The team behind LexA

Behind LexA is an interdisciplinary team: experienced IT architects with decades of practice in heavily regulated industries and practicing Rechtsanwält:innen (German attorneys). That mix shapes every architectural decision — from the data model to mandate-workflow logic.

IT architecture from regulated industries

More than three decades of software and cloud architecture in legal services, aviation, banking, insurance, energy, and rail transport. In those industries, audit trails, data classification, tenant isolation, and encryption are a given. That same discipline feeds directly into LexA — not as a bolt-on compliance layer, but as the design core.

Legal expertise in-house

Practicing Rechtsanwält:innen review every feature decision: § 203 StGB, § 43a/§ 43e BRAO, BORA, and GDPR-compliant mandate workflows from intake through archival. The result: features that carry German professional law in their design core, not in a footer disclaimer.

We think LexA big: a platform that grows with our law firms and brings the Rechtsanwaltskanzlei into the practice world of tomorrow — fully digitalized, AI-powered, and built to scale.

Architectural decisions

Why this matters

Most German legal software was built before cloud, AI, and § 203 StGB-compliant SaaS were a reality. Most AI tools were built without BRAO, BORA, or German attorney-client privilege in scope. At LexA:

Cloud-native from day 1

No terminal servers, no VPN gymnastics, no "I have to be back in the office first".

§ 203 StGB compliance is a design requirement, not a leaflet

AWS and Microsoft have signed the § 203 StGB contract amendments for professional-secrecy holders; LexA relies on these and documents the subprocessor chain transparently in the Trust Center.

Made in Germany — and EU-sovereign hosted

Platform hosting in Frankfurt am Main (AWS eu-central-1, Hetzner Falkenstein). No US data transfers without Art. 44 et seq. GDPR safeguards.

GDPR Art. 28 by default

A data-processing agreement is part of onboarding, not a separate package.

These are not marketing bullets but architectural decisions. The detail is in the Trust Center. /trust.

Who we build for

Our audience

LexA is built for the German Rechtsanwaltskanzlei that wants to digitalize its day-to-day — regardless of firm size. Whether you are a solo attorney without an IT department, a growing firm across multiple offices, or an established partnership modernizing its tech stack: LexA brings case management, beA communication, document collaboration, and RVG billing into one modern, AI-powered interface — no server migration, no VPN gymnastics.

Our focus is the practice world of tomorrow: fully digitalized, largely automated, with a modern tech stack underneath. Fewer clicks, fewer tool switches — more time for mandates and cases. That is exactly what we are building LexA for.
